Folios 207-208: Rodham Home, HMS Africa, Sheerness. Although he has been given leave of absence of one week, as the yard will not received stores until orders are received, he will stay on duty until the ship is paid. Admiral Colpoys has agreed that he should take 5 young gentlemen, who have served with no other Captain, into HMS london with him. He leaves in HMS Africa sufficient experienced Petty Officers, as approved of by Admiral Buckner. To answer Captain Thomas Hawkers letter, Joseph Hudson on board the Simon Taylor, was not ordered back on board HMS Africa, as stated by the Master.
