Folios 270-271: James Godench, Kingston Crescent near Portsea. Requests that his name is placed on the retired list of the Greenwich Out Pensioners on account of his age and long service of 52 years. States Admiral [C?] would second his application and recall him on HMS Champion with Alexander Hood, Captain and with whom he moved to HMS Aimable, captured 19 April 1782 by Vice Admiral Lord Samuel Hood's squadron in the Mona passage with the French ships Jason, Cato [Caton] and Ceres.
