Requests Valentine Gardner is placed on the Half Pay List as a Lieutenant from 17 June 1809, the day of his discharge from HMS Undaunted, to 1 January 1810 when appointed by Sir Alexander Cochrane, Vice Admiral, to the command of the Signal Post on the Islands of the Saintes [Iles de Saintes] in the West Indies.
