Folios 210-211: John Griffith, 22 Arundel Street, [London]. Requests full pay as Lieutenant, HMS Reindeer, for the period 10 July 1808 when he was taken prisoner until his release in December 1808 and subsequent discharge into HMS Favorite. Explains that he was captured by the Spanish Indians of South America while watering HMS Reindeer and taken as a Prisoner of War to Vera Cruz where he remained until peace was declared with the Spanish in December 1808.
