Folios 186-187: Edward Grey, HMS Fairy, Falmouth. Advises that he sailed from Plymouth on 7 May, leaving in hospital 3 men; John Dernan, Gunner's Mate, [Francis Zean], Quarter Gunner and Edward Vaughn, Ordinary Seaman. but could not be supplied with replacements as they had not been in hospital long enough to be discharged from the books. Explains that the ship is now being sent on foreign duty and with no probability of the men ever returning to the ship requests that James Slade, Captain, HMS Experiment is directed to supply HMS Fairy with 3 men so the ship may proceed abroad.
