Folios 182-183: John Gourly, Regulating Captain, Aberdeen. States the case of William Henderson, aged about 21, Able Seaman, unmarried, impressed by Lieutenant Grierson from the Venus merchant vessel, owner David Milne. Advises that despite representations by the owner to the Magistrate, and the rude and insolent behaviour of the Master of the vessel, Henderson was not released from service and was transferred to HMS Adamant and the Merchant vessel proceeded immediately on her voyage.
Folios 184-185: enclosure with folios 182-183: letter, dated 3 May 1813, from George Bridges, London Docks Gate to the Admiralty. Advises that he has received a letter from David Milne, Merchant at Aberdeen stating that William Henderson, a seaman in his employ on the Venus bound from Aberdeen to Quebec, has been impressed. States that the seaman is a faithful employee who has an aged mother and 2 sisters to support and needs to be discharged immediately on any condition the Admiralty may wish to dictate.
