Folios 180-181: James Henry Garrety, HMS Parthian, Spithead. Responds to directions to comment on whether the conduct of John Gooday was such at the time of the capture of the Gunbrig HMS Plumper to exempt Gooday from the censure attached to some of the crew after he [Garrety] was wounded. Explains that Gooday was only a Boy 2nd Class at the time and cannot have effected defence of the brig by his individual conduct. States that the conduct of the 2 lieutenants came to his notice after he was wounded.
