Description

Folios 153-154: John Gascoyne, Regulating Captain, Limerick. Acknowledges receipt of copy of survey report on the men raised at Limerick which indicates that 2 men's ratings were altered and 1 was found unserviceable. Comments that Patrick Caron, Ordinary Seaman, was raised before he joined the Impress Service but because Caron was raised by the Gang, as was Patrick Fahy whose Reward he refunded, he gave back the difference in the reward to his account for the change of rating for Caron. States that in future he will be more particular in choosing men so money is not wasted on unserviceable men.
