Folios 245-246: J A Gordon, HMS Active, Sheerness. He encloses the Acting Order of Mr George Searles, a Gunner on his ship together with his warrant for HMS Swallow (the latter not enclosed). He asks for his confirmation in post as he is a most effective officer.
Folio 247: Enclosure to folios 245-246: An order from Captain JW Spranger of HMS Warrior and Senior Officer in the Adriatic and the Ionian Seas dated 22 June 1810 to Mr George Searles of HMS Swallow, appointing him as Acting Gunner on HMS Active.
