Folios 233-234: J Gourly, Inverness. He refers to letters he received from the Admiralty date 25 February and 21 April ordering him to find boys of the 2nd and 3rd Class to serve in the Navy. He reports little success despite his best efforts due in part to the reasons given in the ledder of Mr Geddes of Stromness dated 6 January. He suggests a change in the proportions of boys to fisherman he has been ordered to find.
