Folios 215-216: Letter from Cooke and Halford, 41 Norfolk Street, The Strand. The letter concerns their client Lieutenant Robert Giles who has received a commission from Sir Francis Laforey, Rear Admiral of the Blue, appointing him to HMS Scorpion on 12 March in the room of John Gore deceased. They enclose the commission. They ask for confirmation of this appointment.
Folios 217-218: Enclosures to folios 215-216. A commission dated 12 March 1812 from Sir Francis Laforey, Rear Admiral of the Blue and Commander in Chief of all vessels in Barbados and the Leeward islands appointing Robert Giles presently Lieutenant on HMS Dragon as commander of HMS Scorpion.
