Folios 169-170: James Galloway, HMS Princess, Liverpool.
Has received from Captain McLeod a letter dated 10 June 1811 and refers to the enclosures. He reports that Owen Grimes was intoxicated and used a stick to knock down a member of the boat's crew. Other members of the gang were also intoxicated and had been dismissed by the lieutenant of the rendezvous.
Folios 171-172: enclosure with folios 169-170. P McWade, Liverpool, 7 June 1811 writes concerning Owen Grimes who is on board HMS Princess . States that the man supports his family and has been employed by the Impress Service and was ordered out to patrol around the docks on 1 June 1811 but was later taken for misconduct to HMS Princess by Galloway. Grimes fears his life is in danger from other impressed men.
Folio 173: enclosure with folios 169-170. An oath sworn before Thomas Golightly on 7 June 1811 Cornelius Grimes states that he has known Owen Grimes for sixteen years and that he never served at sea. Richard McLuer states the same.
