Writes giving a resume of his service but the certificates of conduct are not present. He served under Samuel Pym on HMS Sirius at the capture of the Isle de Passe and acted as lieutenant on the death of lieutenant Norman. He was seriously wounded in that attack and later missed his chance of promotion after the unfortunate action at Port East.
