Folios 83-84: James Galloway, HMS Princess, Liverpool.
Refers to 2 letters concerning Nathaniel Dearben received from the mayor of Liverpool and his own reply. States that the man came on board on 22 February 1811 as a substitute landsman and received £3 but has since admitted being a deserter from the Queens Bays.
Folio 85: enclosure with folios 83-84. James Galloway, 22 March 1811 writes to the mayor of Liverpool that contrary to instructions he has discharged Dearben without first obtaining an order from the Admiralty.
Folios 86: enclosure with folios 83-84. James Drinkwater, mayor, writes to James Galloway that the bailiff of the borough has a warrant for the arrest of Dearben who is to be tried for burglary. Refusal to obey the warrant will be reported to the judge.
Folio 87: enclosure with folios 83-84. James Drinkwater writes to James Galloway that Thomas Whitby, water bailiff, will take Dearben and Richard Hutchinson onshore to the assizes at Lancaster.
