Folios 64-65: William McGuire, Regulating Captain, Waterford.
Replying to a letter dated 27 January 1811 he states that he believes it necessary to have an assistant surgeon to examine the newly raised men on th cutter HMS Trial. While spending time on the vessel some men have been taken ill and there are no sick quarters on board. He mentions that the gangs also occasionally require medical assistance.
