Folios 58-59: Henry Richard Glynn, HMS Vanguard, Sheerness.
Responding to a letter dated 25 February 1811 he reports that accounts of the death of the wife of William Cornelius are correct. Cornelius served on HMS Royal George during the time that she was commanded by Admiral Sir William Domett. He is rated yeoman of the powder room on board HMS Vanguard.
Folios 60-61: enclosure with folios 58-59. A petition, dated 25 February 1811 from Cornelius, HMS Vanguard, Downs. He mentions his 18 years service and states that his wife died suddenly leaving 3 small children living at Chudleigh in Devon. He asks for leave of absence to move the children to a place near Plymouth and requests that both he and his son, aged 12 in the second class, be transferred to any ship at Plymouth.
