Folios 204-205: William Gordon, London. Notes that William Crichton, Master Mate, Charles Mc Dowall, Midshipman, and Jonathan Green, Steward, together with a coxswain and four men, served under his command on HMS Charwell and were discharged with him at The Cape of Good Hope into HMS Sapphire. He commends them all very highly. He has been appointed to command HMS Nereide, and they are anxious to follow him. He notes they have all served with good conduct, and all had served many years on HMS Charwell but left on his account. He asks that they are discharged from HMS Sapphire at Plymouth to join him on HMS Nereide.
