Folios 177-178: Charles Grant, HMS Diana, Spithead. The Carpenter of HMS Elizabeth has been taken to hospital and is unlikely to return to duty. Requests the promotion of James Thomas, Carpenter of HMS Diana, to HMS Elizabeth. He is qualified and fully deserves the position, having been a carpenter for 6 years, and served with Captain Grant on HMS Diana for 2.5 years.
