Folios 133-134: William Granger, HMS Semiramis, River Tagus. Having received an order from Vice Admiral [George Cranfield] Berkeley to receive on board Major General [Alexander] McKenzie [Mackenzie Fraser (after 1803)] and his staff (consisting of five Officers) and Convoy the different Transports (named in the margin of the enclosed Copy of the said order) to Cadiz. I request the usual allowance be paid. I have to observe that from Major General [Alexander] McKenzie [Mackenzie Fraser (after 1803)] and Troops not being able to land, I had them on board nearly five weeks and have consequently been put to considerable expense,
Folios 135-136: enclosure with folios 133-134. Orders dated 29 January 1809 by Vice Admiral George Cranfield Berkeley, HMS Conqueror, Tagus, to William Granger, HMS Semiramis. Orders to take on board Major General [Alexander] McKenzie [Mackenzie Fraser (after 1803)] and his staff with such men of the 40th Regiment as may be sent, and taking under your Convoy the Transports:- 321 Richard, 298 Tyne, 169 Atlas, 175 Triton, 350 Little Frederick, 278 Domineca, 114 Mary Ann, 98 Ceres & H S William & Elizabeth. See them safely to Cadiz, where having landed the Troops to return without loss of time to this Port with the empty Transports.
