Folios 271-273: Edward Grey, Regulating Captain, Hull. Requests the Instructions concerning the criteria qualifying Seamen to enroll in the Sea Fencibles. He thinks in often the men deceive the [Sea Fencibles] Officers regarding their own age and the number of children they have which in many cases might be detected by Impress Officers. Asks whether they are allowed to go to sea out of their district in coasters and colliers. The Instructions would prevent him getting into disputes with the Officers of the Sea Fencibles Service.
