Folios 244-246: Thomas Graves, HMS Brunswick, Spithead. James Cockburn, late Boatswain of his ship was sent sick to the Hospital and has not returned within the time specified. He has been superceded by Thomas Lloyd. Requests that Mr Lloyd is either confirmed or superceded and appointed to a smaller Rate.
Folios 246-247: enclosure with folios 244-246. Order dated 21 November 1807 from Richard Goodwin Keats, Rear Admiral of the Blue, to Thomas Lloyd, given on board HMS Superb in St Helen's Road. James Cockburn, Boatswain of HMS Brunswick, is sick on shore and Captain Graves has recommended him for his services as Boatswain's Mate of HMS Brunswick. He is therefore appointed acting Boatswain.
