Folios 230-231: Edward Leveson Gower, 37 Queen Anne St, London. Reports that one of the Midshipmen of HMS Shannon, Samuel Robinson, had already passed his examination for Lieutenant before the ship was lost and was 22 years old, while Francis Little, the other Midshipman, was aged 19 and been four years at sea. The Lieutenant who was on watch at the time of the accident is now dead, but Mr Robinson was Mate of the Watch. Hopes the Admiralty will consider that enough evidence is available to allow his court martial to be held.
