Description

Folios 259-260: Davidge Gould, South Stoke near Bath. Transmitting the certificate required for the admission of his nephew, Mr John Johnson, to the Royal Academy at Portsmouth.

Folios 261-262: enclosure with folios 259-260. Letter dated 25 September 1806 by Davidge Gould requesting his nephew John Johnson be given a place at the Academy in Portsmouth, at which he knows there are three vacancies at present.

Folio 263: enclosure with folios 259-260. Letter from Charles Johnson, Vicar of South Stoke, Somerset, confirming the birth of his son John on 3 July 1793.

Folio 264: enclosure with folios 259-260. Testimonial from Elmore court School, Gloucester, noting John Johnson's study of Homer, Virgil, and arithmatic.
