Description

Folios 452-453: Edward Grey, Regulating Officer, Hull. Regarding William Howard who was impressed by Lieutenant Hunt from a river sloop where he has served for 6 and a half years. Though he is a river sailor, he has kept him to serve on HM fleet. If all the river sailors were allowed to be protected, there would be no men to be impressed. Enclosing various letters and a daily report on the ships and vessels on the Humber.

Folio 454: enclosure with folios 452-453. Letter dated 18 December 1803 by Lieutenant William Carter, Pontefract Volunteers, Knottingly. A permit of 21 days leave for private Francis Howard of Captain Lees Company of Pontefract volunteer to pass from Ense to Hull.

Folios 455-456: enclosure with folios 452-453. Letter dated 19 January 1804. Mr Beaumont encloses part of a letter from Captain Lee of the Knottingly Volunteer Company to the admiralty concerning the release of Francis Howard.

Folios 457-458: enclosure with folios 452-453: Letter dated 12 January 1804 to Mr Beaumont. Requesting help on behalf of Francis Howard.

Folio 458A: enclosure with folios 452-453: A daily report dated 23 January 1804 by Edward Grey, Regulating Officer, Hull, of HM ships and vessels in the Humber with their arrival and sailing.
