Description

Folios 424-425: Edward Grey, Regulating Captain, Hull. Encloses Reports on the number of men raised for the fleet, a list of Officers and Gangs under his order and the number of HM's ships in the Humber. George Miller, a Gangman has been impressed who possessed a Protection and Indenture in the name of George Mande and noted born in Berwick upon Tweed. George Miller swears he was never at Berwick. The Master of the vessel had no explanation.

Folios 426-427: enclosure with folios 424-425. Document dated August 27 1808, by Officers of the Admiralty; [?xxx?W. Eliot and J.Troubridge?] to Commanders, Officers and Press masters. An indenture document for George Mande, Apprentice to [?] Wright of Selby. His physical description is in a margin note. States that the Protection was in the possession of George Miller who was born in Caithness and had never been to Berwick. The Master of the vessel had no explanation. The reverse states that the Protection was in the possession of George Miller who was born in Caithness and had never been to Berwick. The Master of the vessel had no explanation.

Folio 428: enclosure with folios 424-425. Document dated 11th December 1803 by Edward Grey, Regulating Captain, Hull. The Daily Report of HM's ships in the Humber area: HMS Helder, Snipe, Gellykhied and Sheerness tender.

Folio 429: enclosure with folios 424-425. Dated 26 November 1803 by List of 26 named Officers and Gang men. Edward Grey, Regulating Captain, Hull. To the Admiralty. A list of 26 named Officers and Gang men.
