Folios 413-414: Edward Grey, Regulating Captain, Hull. Reports that Lieutenant Keenor impressed William Standidge, Carpenter of the Retrieve from on board at the entrance to the harbour. Although it is improper to impress Carpenters, however the ship’s voyage was completed and will be laid up for the winter after her cargo is unloaded and Standidge informed the Captain he would have been discharged had he not been impressed. Under these circumstances he has been retained for HM Services, although his employers have applied for him. Standidge will not be sent to the Nore until the Captain has an answer. The former has been a Carpenter of sundry ships for 10 years and is 32 years.
Folio 415: enclosure with folios 413-414. Daily report, dated 6 November 1803, of HM’ ships in the Humber area.
