Folios 408-409: Edward Grey, Regulating Captain, Hull. Acknowledges the request to provide a report on a petition from Thomas Thompson, Master of the Vestal of Hull. It concerns Edward Usher who was impressed on 16th August at the entrance of Hull Harbour where the ship was in perfect safety. Usher declared before five or six persons that once paid, he intended to leave the ship and go to Selby or Thorn to work as a shipwright. It did not appear as though a young man should be lost to both services. The Captain opines that the petition is a mysterious business and Thomas Thompson unlikely to be the author since the vestal is in the Baltic and has not been in London since Usher was impressed.
Folio 410: enclosure with folios 408-409. A daily report, dated 1 November 1803, of HM ships and vessels in the River Humber.
Folio 411: enclosure with folios 408-409. Petition of Thomas Thompson, Master of the ship Vestal.
