Folios 233-234: Edward Leveson-Gower, HMS Shannon, The Nore. Reports that the Masters of the Transports refuse to pay the wags of 5 volunteers that Admiral Rowley ordered to be taken on board. Mr Walters, Master of HMS Aurora would have issued their clothes but Lieutenant Harris, the agent hindered him. James Souter, Master of the Minorca, London and owned by Reeve and Green owe wages to Thomas Christopher and William Downie. William Gray, Master of the Canada of London, owned by Reeve and Green owe wages to John Smith. Mr. Walters, Master of the Aurora of London, owner Mr. Farlane owe wages and clothes to J. Greene, Samuel Moore and Thomas Cook. The Captain asks the Solicitors proceed against the vessels and oblige the owners to pay what is due. Lieutenant Harris will make these men suffer in sending them to sea without clothes.
