Folios 234-235: Anselm John Griffiths, HMS Constance, Sheerness.
Acknowledges orders to proceed to Long Reach to be paid off and recommissioned and to retain the Admiralty Midshipmen and Marines that have entered since the peace. He mentions that Daniel Gray, Armourer's Mate, one of the men so entered is aged 67 and joined before he took command and is totally unfit for such a ship and has requested Gray's discharge with the crew being paid off. Also asks whether the Armourer and Master at Arms both warranted since the Peace are to be retained.
