Folios 407-408: Anslem John Griffiths, HMS Atalante at sea.
Reports that Peter Sullivan, an ordinary seaman aboard his ship, has given himself up as a deserter, by the name of Peter Coleman, 'under the mistaken hope that His Majesty's late proclamation would entitle him to the pay he had forfeited'. The man said he had run from a small gunboat, the Crown, commanded by a midshipman, on about the 8th March 1799, and that this vessel is no longer in the service. Griffiths requests instructions. Admiralty note says to inform the man he is not entitled to anything.
