Folios 287-288: John Gore, HMS Medusa in the Downs.
Sending two certficates [not now present] for William Tagg, a ropemaker, now aboard the Medusa, asks that the ship being in want of one and Gore thinking he is capable, their Lordships will send a warrant for him. Admiralty note on rear asks if such an appointment is authorised and being advised yes, by their order of 5 December 1800, then asks if it is not the Navy Board that should issue the warrant, and if so to direct Gore to apply to them.
