Covering letter giving his approval for the discharge of Samuel Smith junior, an apprentice who had signed up for the Medusa, whose father had been to see him and produced his Indenture.
Folios 251-252: Enclosure with folios 249-250: Letter dated 13 June 1801 by Samuel Smith, Feltmaker, Gravel Lane, to the Admiralty.
Affidavit from Samuel Smith senior that his son is an apprentice, has never been to sea and"eloped on Sunday last, went to Woolwich and entered in his Majesty's Service" and received no bounty.
