Folios 241-242: John Gore, HMS Medusa, Woolwich.
Writes in relation to William Saunderson, an able seaman convicted of stealing from the Dockyard and sent to work on the hulks. The clergyman of the parish has been to see him about the case and has offered to stand surety for him. Captain Gore offers to take him aboard his ship with the clergyman standing surety and thinks it worth restoring an able seaman to the service. [Refused. The Admiralty feel it is important that examples should be made of people robbing the dockyard]
