Description

Folios 218-219: John Gore, HMS Triton, Plymouth Sound.

Informs their Lordships of the accident of 7 March [which killed Lieutenant Alford], encloses a list [not present] of HMS Triton's defects and expresses the opinion the ship needs to be carefully examined in Dock.

Folio 220: Enclosure with folios 218-219. Letter dated 9 March 1801 by Honourable William Cornwallis, Admiral, Commander in Chief, Channel, HMS Ville De Paris at sea, to John Gore, Captain, HMS Triton.

Order to Captain Gore to join him off Brest/Torbay as soon as he has refitted and replenished provisions.
