Folios 290-291: Anselm John Griffiths, HMS Atalante, Hamoaze. The Admiralty having been pleased to appoint John Brumhall, Midshipman of HMS Endymion to be Lieutenant in lieu of Lieutenant Hills. He took up his appointment at the Office of Commissioner Fanshawe on the 4th in the morning. He reports that although the Sloop is refitting in the Harbour and himself constantly on the spot he has not yet made an appearance.
