Folios 284-285: Anselm John Griffiths, HMS Atalante, Spithead. A few days before he sailed from Plymouth - now near a month ago. He wrote about John Connor at present Boatswain of HMS Atalante. Who is 50 years of age, made Boatswain in 1782, and was declared unfit for active sea service at Plymouth Hospital about a year ago. He requested they be pleased to place him on a Frigate Hulk. Not having received any reply. On his arrival at this port he learnt that a Boatswain's Mate of HMS Queen Charlotte was appointed to HMS Atalante and remained in daily expectation of his joining. Requests information on the situation.
