Folios 250-251: Edward Griffith, HMS Triton, Spithead. Reports that the complement of HMS Triton is fourteen working men short. She now mounts 44 Guns and carriers the Masts and Yards of a Six 7 Thirty Gun Frigate, & is, he believes, in every respect as heavy a Frigate or Work as any twelve pound Frigate of that date in the Service. And that the present Crew [Complement] are unequal to the Duty of so heavy a Frigate.
