Folios 242-243: Thomas Graves, HMS Venus, Spithead. Covering letter for a List [not present] of ships under his protection. As many of the Ships are bound to the Southern most parts of North America and the season will be so far advanced that his arrival in Halifax will be very late. He suggests that directions be given to make over to and charge of HMS Andromache now laying here. Also states that his passage must be masterly retarded by such a number and that they require another of His Majesty's Ships for their protection.
