Folios 216-217: Thomas Graves, HMS Cumberland, Spithead. The men named in the enclosed list [not present] discharged from the Supernumerary List of HMS Royal William to serve as part of the complement of HMS Cumberland having informed me, that they voluntarily entered with the Officers and for the Ships as against their names expressed, and have not received the King's Bounty, and request directions. I also acquaint you that the men from HMS Polyphemus came to HMS Cumberland with a notation on their Discharge List, that they had not received Bounty - except Michael Kempey a subject of Russia, who says he had Captain [George] Lumsdaine's promise that he should - This man expresses aa wish to continue in the Service. .
