Folios 212-213: Thomas Graves, HMS Cumberland, Spithead. As per Regulations and Instructions he reports that William Thorpe, Ship's Corporal of HMS Cumberland deserted yesterday. [description given], has been informed that he left Portsmouth this morning in a Stage Coach for London. Hopes he may be apprehended as he thinks him a proper object for public example, he having been forgiven for a similar offence on the 9 November 1799.
