Folios 141-142: John Gore, HMS Triton, Plymouth Sound. Report the arrival of HMS Triton at this anchorage, and that by endeavouring to cut the Spanish Frigate Santa Brigida off from the shore a few miles to the Southward of Cape Finisterre on the morning of the 17 October 1799 she struck with extreme violence upon a rock, that she leaks very much for which she requires to be taken into dock as soon as possible. Reports that there was no blame to be placed on any person on board.
