Folios 113-114: John Gore, HMS Triton. Covering letter for the enclosed [not present] which he received at sea from Lieutenant Edmund Boger, Senior Lieutenant of HMS Triton and although he is aware that the mentioned seaman Hugh Stevenson, is at times afflicted with a mental derangement yet as he has been more that once guilty of the same crime, and as he appeared to him on that day to be perfectly in his senses and that the act was premeditated. He is reduced to the disagreeable necessity of requesting you will be pleased to order the said Hugh Stevenson to be tried by a Court Martial for striking his superior Officer in the execution of his Office.
