Folios 255-256: Sir Erasmus Gower, HMS Active, Spithead. His Cook has deserted. Asks to appoint John Williams, Quartermaster of HMS Active as Cook. Aged sixty, thirty years active service. Requests a warrant for Charles McGuire, Acting Master at Arms, HMS Arethusa who was discharged into HMS Active, 8 February.
