Folios 214-215: Thomas Le Marchant Gosselin, HMS Syren, Spithead. Received Sir Peter Parker's order to have Marines in lieu of the six Able seamen and two Ordinary seamen he is to discharge onto HMS Royal William. Says the seamen Captain Moore applied for are still on HMS Syren's books as he has not seen HMS Melampus since their letter of the 29 September. Asks to be allowed to show Sir Peter Parker their letter of 29th having said he should get more men when at the next King's port and keep the men he ordered discharged onboard.
