Description

Folios 254-255: John Foote, Stonehouse, Plymouth. Covering letter for the enclosed letter from the Secretary of the Chest as received in answer to mine sent to them. [Something about money belonging to John Elliott and Richard Morgan being found and what to do with it].

Folio 256: enclosure with folios 254-255. Letter dated 3 August 1814 by [Signature unclear], Chest Office, Greenwich, to John Foote. HMS Rapid. Reply to letter dated 27 July 1814 inclosing the bank notes amounting to Twenty Pounds as cash belonging to John Elliott and Richard Morgan, deserters from HMS Rapid. Returns them as, having no authority to take charge of money of the above description.
