Folios 223-224: William Fothergill, London. George Hicke served with him on HMS Lancaster and on being paid off, he went to HMS Orlando under Captain Clarke. When Fothergill returned from the Baltic he was surprised to find him aboard. Hicke says he wants to serve under him and so, having heard Fyffe was being appointed to HMS Ulysses, he deserted from HMS Orlando in the Mediterranean and returned. He had no intention of leaving the Navy so he asks if the R can be removed and if he can stay.
Folio 225: enclosure with folios 223-224. Letter dated 19 June 1813 by William Fothergill, 5 West Square. He hopes the R can be removed from George Hicke.
