Folios 237-238: Edward James Foote, HMS Sea-horse [Seahorse], Falmouth. Reports that an hour after he sent his earlier letter ashore with the Pilot, the wind veered to the Southwest. At the same time HMS Chichester signalled that HMS Serapis was in distress, and neither of the store ships nor one half of the convoy were able to get out of the harbour, so he decided to return to port. The Serapis went aground but suffered no damage. HMS Pique and her five transports returned later in the morning. The wind is now from the Southwest with hard rain.
