Folios 235-236: Edward James Foote, HMS Sea-horse [Seahorse], off Falmouth Harbour. Reports that after blowing hard from the West, the wind swung round to the east this morning and at 5 am he made the signal for the convoy to weigh anchor. Thinks it will be several hours before all the ships can get under weigh. At midnight he had received three copies of the Admiralty orders of 23 December, one of which he sent to HMS Maidstone and another to HMS Chichester. He has shown his own copy to the commanders of HMS Alliance and HMS Serapis.
