Folios 190-191: Edward James Foote, HMS Sea-horse [Seahorse], Spithead. Encloses a copy of a letter he received from the Commissioners of the Navy; the men they mention entered on board HMS Bellerophon at Palermo.
Folio 192: enclosed with folios 190-191. Letter dated 22 October 1800 from C Hope, J Hemlow and William Rule, the Navy Office, to Captain Edward Foote, HMS Seahorse. In response to his letters asking that Elias Miller, John Batchelor and James Cook should be paid the bounty, point out that as they entered abroad, they are not entitled to it without an order from the Admiralty. But as the Seahorse is about to sail they have given directions that the bounty be paid and ask Captain Foote to apply to the Admiralty for an order to cover this.
