Folios 174-175: Edward James Foote, HMS Sea-horse [Seahorse], (in quarantine), Motherbank. Reports his arrival, encloses a copy of Lord Keith's orders and [no longer present] a weekly account and a log from the time he left Minorca. On 21 August in Latitude 36º 15' N, Longitude 18º W he met the Active and the Indian Packet, merchantmen bound to the Straits from the West Indies. On 1 July he spoke HMS Invincible and on 27 July parted from the convoy in Latitude 37º 30' N, Longitude 47º 40' W.
Folios 176-177: enclosed with folios 174-175. Copy of orders dated 8 July 1800 from Vice Admiral Lord Keith, Commander in Chief in the Mediterranean, HMS Minotaur, Leghorn [Livorno], to Captain Edward James Foote, HMS Sea Horse [Seahorse]. He is ordered to return to Minorca to land General Sir Ralph Abercromby, and then to make his way to Spithead. Before his departure he is to discharge a Surgeon's Mate and a party pf 20 Marines including a Sergeant.
